Lains Barn Wedding, near Wantage, Oxfordshire.
Kate and Mike had one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever photographed. Right from the very start of the day everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was on top form and ready to celebrate their wedding.
When I arrived in the morning Kate was finishing getting her hair done, and I was immediately welcomed in to where everyone was sat around chatting and laughing – it was a pleasure to walk into!
One of the first things I usually do when I arrive at bridal prep is to photograph the dress, and was over the moon that Kate asked me if I could take it outside to hang up on the arch in the garden! It made a beautiful photograph and is always so nice to do something a little different for the dress shot.
One of my favourite moments of the morning was when Kate walked out into the garden to give her bridesmaids and family the first look. It was so lovely to see everyone’s reactions. Especially her dads, who was wearing the cutest suit and was waiting up some steps and through their beautiful garden arch.
Kate had chosen a beautiful Watters gown, which she wore with a beautiful hair piece and the most incredible custom full length veil which came over her face. Her bridesmaids wore cream dresses and they had beautiful rustic flowers in their bouquets.
They had a lovely church ceremony. Towards the end one of Kate’s bridesmaids sang to the guests which was such a beautiful moment, nearly everyone had happy tears in their eyes and she received a huge applause after!
After the ceremony it was time to get the celebrations started – as they walked round the corner onto their family run fishery, everyone was greeted with Kate and Mike’s own cocktails.
At Lains Barn, there was music welcoming the guests and everyone was ready to dance and party, which carried right on through and into the night! I had so much fun photographing Kate and Mikes wedding at Lains Barn, thank you for having me xxx
(Big thank you to my amazing second shooter for the day – Charlotte)
